Summary: From November 1992 to May 2000 we treated 78 patients affected by genital rolapse (76 after vaginal or abdominal hysterectomy). Surgical complications consisted of 1 sciatic nerve damage and 1 uncomplicated rectal injury. At the average follow up of 3.5 months the long term complications were recurrent vault prolapse (7%), cystocele (12.5) and recto-enterocele (6%), failed stress incontinence (9%) and dyspareunia (14%).
This procedure is safe and effective for the cure of vault prolapse associated with anterior and posterior defect.
